昨天看书看到一笑话:法官问一位吊着绷带的妇女:“出车祸以来,你那只手最高能举多高?”那位妇女痛苦地皱着眉把手举到肩膀那么高:“只能举到这儿。”法官又问:“出车祸前能举多高呢?”那位妇女高兴地把手一下子举过头顶:“这么高!”

看人民文学出版社1983年编辑出版的《台湾中篇小说选》,里面还收入了两篇言情小说:玄小佛的《小木屋》、严沁的《浅水湾之恋》。两人的作品我都未看过。严沁的那篇看了几页放弃了,因为动不动就来个感叹号,实在是太多,我最烦滥用感叹号了!!!!!

有的翻译书印译者简介。前几年我译的一本书出版时,责编拟了段译者简介,我并不知道。后来同社的另一位编辑看到后觉得我不会接受那样的用语,我一看,真的不可以。里面还有“酷爱文学”这样的话,虽然我的确“酷爱”,但是不用这样告诉别人嘛!于是就自拟了一段,后来再用,都以此为基础,如下为最新的:孙仲旭,毕业于郑州大学外文系,现供职于广州某航运公司,业余从事文学翻译,已出版译作《一九八四·动物农场》、《门萨的娼妓》、《有人喜欢冷冰冰》、《麦田里的守望者》、《梦想家彼得》等29种(包括6种再版书)。

看《神秘列车》,因为对好多所提的音乐不熟悉,所以算是在学习姚向辉老师的译文,超赞。不过总算让我找到一个错误,专辑名Back Stabbers不能译为“后街刺客”,而应指“往人背后捅刀子的人”。以前看过一句给同事的临别赠言:Could you take the knife out of my back? You might need it next time.”

 

现在我早上去棠下喝胡辣汤,一般要喝两碗,一碗在这家喝,一碗在另一家喝,店家都来自河南周口。汤里内容略有不同,一家稍辣一点。这里走动的人们说的都是河南话,家里的男人多开的士。昨天在庙头那里一间河南饭馆吃饺子,听店家说那里的河南人也多,但男人主要都是开货柜车的,因为那里离码头近。
